Thanks to all that attended and in particular the guest speakers at the 2011 Going for Growth event at Writtle College, Chelmsford last week.
Guest speakers included Sir George Cox (Chairman of the Design Council), Lawrence Mallinson (Co-founder of the Covent Garden Soup Company and James White Drinks), Val Thorn (CEO and founder of AND Technology Research Ltd) and Chris Robinson (Olympus Keymed).
In his keynote speech, Sir George Cox spoke about economic growth being fuelled by two factors in particular – the advancement of technology coupled with continued human enterprise and innovation.
In challenging economic times it’s great to hear such words particular given Britain’s global reputation in these areas, and the inspirational work of many of the attendees present.
Hopefully those who attended our workshop on ‘New Ideas for Exhibiting’ found it equally insightful, where we focussed in particular on the innovations in fabric printing and the creative possibilities of digital fabrication.
We also showcased some of our own products including PhormTex lightboxes and a tub chair made entirely from ReBoard. Also proving popular was our ‘forest of ideas’ which showcased the diversity of creative work undertaken by many of the participating businesses displayed on a series of ReBoard trees.
Lightweight and eye-catching, they highlighted the benefits of ReBoard so well they all quickly found new homes after the event. For once, deforestation we approve of!
